How much does external wall insulation cost in London?
London projects typically run 10–20% above those figures, because of access, parking and local labour rates. Scaffolding, the borough licence and any repositioning of gutters, downpipes and sills are itemised separately on your quote.

Do you have an office in London?
No. We work across every London borough, but we do not run a walk-in office in the capital — and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.
Our head office is in Exhall, Coventry, and our London team comes to you. The free survey always takes place at your property, where we measure, take photos and go through the options on site.
Do I need planning permission to render or insulate a house in London?
Usually not — rendering and external wall insulation normally fall under Permitted Development. London is the exception more often than the rest of the country.
Many boroughs have an Article 4 direction in place, which removes that right for changes to the front elevation, and conservation areas can restrict the finish or the colour. If the property is listed, you will need listed building consent before any re-rendering, even in the same colour.
We check the borough’s position at the survey and tell you before you commit.
Can you insulate a Victorian terrace?
Yes — pre-1919 terraces are solid-wall properties and among the strongest candidates for external wall insulation. There are two things we check first.
The wall moves out by around 100mm, so we check clearances where the elevation sits close to a pavement or a boundary. And on a front elevation in a conservation area, the borough may not permit a rendered finish at all — see the planning answer above.
What happens where the wall meets my neighbour's?
External wall insulation can be installed on just your property. On a mid-terrace it is typically applied to the front and rear elevations; on an end-terrace it also covers the exposed flank wall.
Where the system reaches the boundary line, we form a sealed stop with uPVC stop beads, mesh reinforcement and sealant. Nothing overhangs onto the neighbouring property.
How quickly can you start in London?
Lead times vary by season — typically 2 to 6 weeks from quote acceptance in spring and summer, often sooner in winter. Add time where a scaffolding licence or a parking suspension has to be issued by the borough.

How far across London do you travel?
For Midlands projects, our Coventry team works from Exhall and covers a 70-mile radius. If you are not sure whether we reach you, send us your postcode and we will tell you straight away.
Do you work on flats, mansion blocks and commercial buildings?
On a block or a converted house you will normally need the freeholder’s consent, and on buildings over 18 metres the system has to be non-combustible, which means mineral wool rather than EPS. We confirm both at the survey.
